Commercial catering equipment company Carford Group has helped a student restaurant in the University of Herts overcome falling demand by creating a new dining brand called FD4FORT (food for thought).
The Hatfield-based university's head of catering Francis Watson said: "The new dining area replaced Southern Fried Chicken which had suffered from decreasing volumes of diners throughout each year due to a limited and fixed menu.
"FD4FORT has overcome the problem by producing varied menus that encourage repeat dining to create all year round consistency in demand."
Ferndown-based Carford created the new-style brand and installed the entire kitchen and counters.
It also designed and installed shopfittings, signage and chilled display cabinets for a retail unit half a mile away within the university's £120 million new De Haviland Campus on a former British Aerospace site - the shop was fittingly called Take Off. |
