Carfords recently exhibited at the TUCO conference held at Manchester Metropolitan University. The University Caterers Organisation gather once a year to attend the annual general meeting and also to listen to inspirational talks given in past years by culinary celebrities such as Raymond Blanc. This year well known North-West chef Paul Heathcote gave a talk on training and skills shortages within the industry and an excellent evening was later spent at Paul's Manchester restaurant Simply Heathcotes.
In between these seminars and talks the delegates have the opportunity to explore the exhibition marquee and this year there where 45 exhibitors ranging from Coca Cola, Walker Snacks, Nestle UK and fo rthe second year, Carfords. The exhibition is designed to give suppliers such as Carfords the opportunity to speak to people within the Universities who are decision-makers and to promote the services that the exhibitors can offer the Universities. Carfords have a long history of working with Universities, in particular the University of Southampton, University of Hertfordshire, University of Kent and Imperial College of Science, London. Carfords had a successful conference with a number of Universities agreeing to put Carford on their Tender lists for any forthcoming projects and are looking forward to next years conference at the University of St Andrews, Scotland. |
