Lesley Walters Opens New Kitchen & Dining Room at St Anthony`s School

 18 Nov 2006

Celebrity chef Lesley Walters has opened a new dining room, kitchen and servery at St Antony's Leweston independent school in Dorset. The kitchen, servery and dishwash room, project-managed and installed by Carford Group, was its largest-ever school installation. It replaced an ageing kitchen and servery in a new block added to the the school, part of which dates back to the Middle Ages.

School commercial director Lucy Robins said: "Lesley was impressed with the kitchen and said the team was lucky to have such a facility. "The school is very pleased with the installation; the cooking equipment is just fantastic and made a huge difference. It has given staff a much better working environment and allowed for greater flexibility and opportunities." Carford's David Jackson said: "We project-managed the installation on behalf the architect - once the design was accepted, the school was able leave everything in our hands, which made the process easy for them."

Leweston is located in 47 acres of parkland just outside historic Sherborne. Its late Perpendicular and historically important Trinity Chapel (c 1600) is one of the first post-Reformation churches in the country.

The core of the present school is a fine Palladian manor house (late 18th century) with Art Deco interior refurbishments and later additions. The campus also includes a Preparatory School.
