During a £280,000 transformation to recreate the character and history of The Old Beams inn near Ringwood, Carford Group was called in to install a new theatre kitchen.
Restaurateur Shahab Hashtroudi of the Alcatraz Group - who has operated the pub for three years - asked Carford to design and install bar and kitchen equipment. The pub serves modern British food for up to 160 covers. It has been busy since being taken over by Alcatraz three years ago, but Shahab had never been 100% happy with that they had created the right atmosphere.
Carford product sales manager Chris Sherred said: "The transformation is stunning and it has recaptured lots of the pub's historic character."One modern touch was the theatre kitchen, now visible from the bar, where diners can watch the chefs preparing their food.
The premises closed for a month during the change.
Shahab said: "Carford performed well in the short timescale that was available and did a good job. We had a very good team between Alcatraz and Carford staff. "The Old Beams employs 25 staff, including nine in the kitchen under head chef Russell Thomas - who is adamant that all food is locally sourced.
Alcatraz operates 11 sites including six pubs, four Italian restaurants and a wine and beer wholesale company - and there are plans for another new opening soon. www.alcatrazuk.com |
