When the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust needed two kitchens for the visitor centre at its new London attraction, Carford Catering Equipment flew to the rescue.
The £16 million Wetland Centre, opened by Sir David Attenborough in May, is only four miles from the heart of London and gives city dwellers the chance to experience wetland wildlife on their doorstep.
It boasts a mosaic of lakes, lagoons, ponds and pools spanning over 105 acres of land that was formerly disused reservoirs in Barnes.
Ferndown-based Carford installed all equipment for a restaurant and a function room in the Peter Scott visitor centre, plus a special s-shaped servery counter and specially-designed kitchen ventilation.
The centre features a large glass observatory and innovative images relayed by CCTV from the wilderness area.
WWT sites - founded by Sir Peter Scott in 1946 - are now world-renowned wetland reserves for wintering ducks geese and swans and welcome hundreds of thousands of people every year.
Last year Carford fitted out a new visitor centre for WWT?s Slimbridge, Gloucestershire, site.
