Carford Catering Equipment is to consolidate its two Ferndown locations into one. At the same time, service director Nick Oryino becomes managing director while existing MD, John Carter, becomes chairman. From June 1 the newer, expanded Mitchell Road centre will house the 21 year-old company's sales and admin staff. Carford's commercial kitchen CAD design studio and its busy catering equipment showroom will also move from the firm's original Cobham Road site. The new premises were built three years ago to house Carford's expanding servicing business - it has 41 service engineers located around the south of England and 13 staff in its Ferndown call centre - and its stainless steel fabrications workshop.
John Carter said: "The move overcomes the classic problems of a split site and enables us to work more effectively as a team. Inter-departmental communication will be enhanced with clear benefits to our customers." Carford designs and installs complete kitchens and serveries for pubs, restaurants, hotels and contract catering facilities. It has been Zanussi Professional's No.1 UK distributor for the last three years and this year won an exclusive distributorship for leading refrigeration manufacturer Foster.
