Choice Hotels Europe opened their latest Sleep Inn at Shrewsbury in August 2006. The incumbent catering equipment supplier had gone into administration and urgent assistance was required to keep the project on line. It was the first scheme delivered for Choice Hotels from The Carford Group - their new service provider.

The Carford Group where instructed to Specify, Design, Install and Train, on all equipment in Kitchen, Bar & Breakfast Servery Areas.

The client had commented that they where not convinced that the specification on some of the kitchen equipment being used on previous Sleep Inns was adequate. Paul Gilhooly of Carford Group identified where improvements where needed and implemented changes. The Prime Cooking and Refrigeration equipment where upgraded to fulfil operational requirements.

The project was delivered on time and within budget, in only 8 weeks from initial briefing meeting.

Steve Allen, Business Development Manager for Sleep Inn says; "We were very concerned when our catering equipment supplier went into receivership. The potential for delays in the building contract is never a pleasant experience. The cost of over-running the contract can be enormous. At Shrewsbury we had already experienced a major delay to the contract and when Carford's were appointed, this development was our number 1 priority.

Paul was able to have the plans redrawn (and made some last minute changes) and issued to the contractors even while our two companies were still finalising the details of our arrangements. Under Paul's guidance the kitchen was right on schedule, it works well, the costs were on budget and even the contractor was happy. What more can one say!

We're already on site at 3 other locations and I'm confident I won't need to worry about the catering facilities".
